Plus, you’re subject to the whims and vagaries of whatever they decide to do with the service.

I could set up yet another blog, but that’s really not what I’m looking for – I want something for the first-time visitor (or long-time-no-see friend) to be able to visit and navigate in a useful way.

So I’m in the process of building a personal web hub that incorporates all the many things I do. One site I can link to in my signatures. One site I can put on my business card. One site that doesn’t

Re: Personal Virtual Hubs

what you're talking about. I like what Connie Reece did, she's involved in several blogs but this is her main website: http://connieversations.com/

A year ago I had no blogs, now I have three. Seems like everyone is always managing content and then trying to present it in a fresh and appealing way. Not always easy.

Good luck with your new personal web hub. I look forward to seeing what you come up with

Re: Personal Virtual Hubs

Hi Scott, I am a fellow Work.com expert, and have something for you to look at that I did. This was not MY idea, but Jon Jantsch's over at DuctTapeMarketing.com

I put together 2 Hub Pages. One for my name, and one for my network of blogs and sites I have created.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

1. http://www.JoelLibava.com
2. http://www.ThePremierFranch...

Best,
Joel Libava
The Franchise King Blog
Cleveland
Blogworld attendee....

Re: Personal Virtual Hubs

Thanks for the great post. It describes perfectly what I'm trying to figure out right now. Unlike you, I have a relatively new blog, one focused on creative solutions in the investment world, http://www.researchpuzzle.com/, but I am also working on a number of other things in that area and trying to figure out the best way to combine them.

An extra layer to it, as you point out in your piece, is that's just one of the dimensions of who I am and what I do (as I mused on in this post:
http://researchpuzzle.com/b.... Trying to put all of the pieces together in a way that works for me and also for clients, readers, collaborators, etc. is of prime importance to me.

I look forward to your further ideas and suggestions.

Re: Personal Virtual Hubs

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's good at aggregating content from other sites. I look forward to your new site's evolution.

Cheers,
Shara
